TB, You are right that it is the users that make facebook a very profitable business. I didn't mean to sound like the only reason people hate the new facebook is because they hate change. I personally know many people who are stuck in their ways and don't like things to change because they are comfortable where they are. I took the opportunity to write about it when I saw the facebook group (which btw now has 1.3 million people - less than 2% of facebook users, not that it means anything).
Having 100 million users, facebook may feel that they can do whatever they want without listening to their users because they feel people have so much invested in them that they wont change. But we've seen it time and again where companies feel they are at the top and lose sight of the big picture and their customers go somewhere else. At the rate that the internet is expanding, who knows what is coming next and if and when people will switch.

I agree with Mercuire. People don't hate change, they hate the new Facebook layout. There IS a difference. Now everyone's page looks exactly the same-boring and dull. I know for myself I spent a lot of time on my profile that says a little something about me. I don't care for the endless wall posts that seems to now dominate the Facebook profiles. Frankly, I switched over from MySpace to Facebook because I liked Facebook better. Now, I'm not going to be bothered with it anymore.

The USERS are the ones who made Facebook and if you know anything about business, Facebook makes MILLIONS everyday from advertisers because of it's users. From what I understand, the developers are simply ignoring the users which is pretty F**ked up if you ask me. I wonder how long Facebook would still be a top social site if ALL the users stop using the site-hence stop clicking on the ads. That would mean Facebook would lose millions. Would you want to be ignored when it is you the user who are making these guys super rich? I think not, but hey, they made their millions already right?

Actually, I don't think people simply hate the new Facebook because they hate change. It is because it is simply a bad design. The new Facebook seeks to make things "cleaner" but using tabs instead of making people to scroll down to find things. The fact is, however, I suspect most people are like me and prefer to scroll than click tabs. Then there are other things, like combining the Wall and the News Feed, making it hard to see posts, the ads which are everywhere on the new Facebook, et. al. It is simply not a good design at all and is actually less clean than the old Facebook.

I am not with Facebook presently (I intend to sign up) but if I were, I am afraid I Hate change. But with that said I am willing to change...I think it keeps you younger and more in touch with everything that is happening around you esp. in the world today. Just think of all the things that one would miss out on if we didn't accept change. We didn't have the internet awhile back and we had to change to accept that ...and now look how far we are.
