The decision was pretty easy since I love my family and will be with them forever and I just like my job but don’t see myself going very far with it in the long run. That being said I have to find a way to spend more time with them while I continue to earn an income. I didn’t say keep my job or find a better or closer job because I now realize that there are many ways to earn an income. I could start my own business, find another job, look for ways to earn passive income or become a great investor.
My problem is that there are too many options. I could move anywhere so that I can have an easier commute. I have all kinds of experience from my current position so I can apply for many types of jobs or start something of my own. I have recently become interested in real estate so I could start buying and flipping or become a landlord. There are also so many things that I would love to do someday so I could look into trying to make a living doing one of those things. I can also start my own business and I have a whole bunch of ideas that I think will be successful but will each take a lot of time and research. I feel like there are hundreds of dollar bills flying out of a window of a tall building and I am trying to catch them all and not catching any because I am going for them all. If I would just choose one to go after, chances are that I would get it.
I guess the best thing to do mat this point is decide one or two things that I want to do and go for it with everything else on the back burner. I’ll keep a file of all my options and ideas for a rainy day.
I am a typical person more or less that has always tried to get away with doing the absolute minimum to get by. In school, I did my assignments last minute, I barely passes some of my tests, I crammed for everything and didn't care about retaining any information. I always wanted to be successful and get lucky but my problem was that I thought that luck and chance were synonymous. One day, all that changed when i found out that there was more to "Luck". I learned that it was possible to make your own luck and that people that were "lucky", all had very similar characteristics. I made a conscious decision to become one of those lucky people and the world started to open up. It didn't happen overnight and I'm still not there yet but at least I know what to look for and what to do. Recognizing the opportunities to get lucky is only the beginning of the battle. Now I have to train myself to jump on every opportunity and one day be truly "lucky".
